Five for Friday

Happy Friday! And HAPPY SPRING BREAK!!!!!! What a week it's been leading up to break- glad I survived it! Hehe. Here's what we've been up to!

Have you heard of Lularoe? If not, I'd fee bad for introducing you to a money sucking obsession but then again you could go to work feeling like you're wearing PJs so I must tell you.. Do a Facebook search of Lularoe to find consultants out there that sell it. They have lots of fun prints for buttery soft leggings, shirts, skirts, and dresses. I just got a maxi skirt in the mail I plan to wear for Easter and it is amazing!

So they had planet print and dinosaurs... Me and a teacher friend couldn't resist!

My planet pants were a good way to celebrate our solar system test and the end of our unit!

We've started working on area and perimeter the past few weeks. I've been using the math unit from Ashleigh's Education Journey, and it's packed with fun activities. Our favorite by far are the area and perimeter robots!

Sorry for the poor quality picture! The lighting in the hall isn't great. I had to get a group shot of the robots though!

This week we took some time to practice tricky questions that do not have a clear cut way of solving them. My students weren't very familiar with "guess and check" so we started out pretty simple. Of course I had to bring in my goats some how!

Here you can see it escalated pretty quickly! Haha. This was the challenge problem after a few examples where I increased to 2 digit, 3 digit, and now 4. I wrote a couple on a notepad and the ones who already solved the 3 digit problem on the board could pass those around. It was like they were on a secret mission having their own individual problem on a little slip of paper.. They're too precious!

I also felt it necessary to start this problem with the fact that I own a fruit store- because the number of apples and oranges were ridiculous!! LOL

Last post I shared that we had raised enough money to get a set of giant blue blocks similar to tinker toys for outside play! It takes a month for them to make the blocks and ship them, so we downloaded the Imagination Playground 3D build app so we can get a jump start on some building ideas!

This castle comes complete with moat! Pretty neat!

Farm update- We are now officially actual farmers! We've upgraded from our .3 acres to 7.5 acres! SO MUCH ROOM FOR GOATS!! :) We're pretty excited to build there soon- just have to sell our current house. Ahhh now to clean all spring break :)

Hope your spring break is filled with relaxation and exciting things! Link up with Doodle Bugs teaching to share your survival story of this week :)

Rock on,

Diana

  4. Planet and dinosaur pants are amazing! I don't think that they'd fit into our dress code except for dress down days. I love those!
